Got my 225s on tonight!
Well, here is a preview pic.. It got dark. It needs to be lowered BAAD now, Im also not happy with my tire selection on the front. Its too small compared to the back. I will get new fronts when I get my drop kit stuff...
A bunch more pics coming tomorrow.. NEW PICS 6-18-10 I didnt get out to get any pictures on level ground but took these.. Painted my rear drums today, they look 1000x better then they did before behind the wheels. Last edited by muthstryker; 06-18-2010 at 11:16 PM. |

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
I had to grind my hubs, I have the HD brakes. However, Another board member has HD brakes as well and bought the same wheels and they went right on. Apparently eagle alloys fixed the wheel problem so they should bolt right up from what im hearing as long as they are the newer wheels and a 4.5" backspace... Dont quote me on that.
It took about an hour to grind my hubs to get the wheels to fit.. And if you plan to grind your hubs PUT THE OLD LUG NUTS ON THE LUGS!! so you dont mess up the threads! |

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
Honestly i think the front tires look fine compared to the back, I would lower it before you swap them out. The drop will make them look a lot better. If you still dont like them you can allways swap them out later.

Tires are way to small, why would you even want 225?

The 225 wheels look great with that color on your truck. It will look way better slammed. How low are you going?

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
My tires are Nitto INVO 245/35/20 Front and 295/35/20 Rear. Once I drop the truck the front tires might be fine. I want to 5/7-6/8, If I go 6/8 the front tires might be fine seeing how I wouldnt have to take out my inner fenders.
The truck does look a tad higher because its sitting on a hill. Will get some better pics later today leveled out. Its already been lowered 2"s all around by the PO |

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
I don't know how your roads are up there. But, I am almost 6/8 drop and it is about all that I can handle up front here. But, I have shorter tires than you. Even there, I still get some inner fender rub from time to time. Truck looks good though. The 225s match up with our body lines well. Now drop it!

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
Ya I still cant make up my mind on the amount of drop.. I think I stood looking at it for like 2 hours yesterday trying to decide what I wanted to do. The roads up here are pretty good, they could be worse. I cant wait to drop it though!

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
The wheels look sweet on there. Get ya an altitude adjustment, and you won't notice the tire differences.

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
Put about 125 miles on the truck today with the new wheels, I really like the tires I chose they are really nice and smooth. My ride has seem to improved, its weird. People on the road seem to like it too! haha.. After looking again today and driving around, the tires up front will be fine once I drop it.

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
Lookin good, do these wheels have a clear coat? Or is it a raw finish that can be polished with Mothers paste?
I'm thinking about getting these for my 85 but I have HD brakes also. |

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
They are a polished wheel, pretty sure there is no clearcoat on them.. I could be wrong. A couple people said that Eagle has fixed the brake problem and that the newest version of the wheel will fit over the hub if you have the HD brakes.

Re: Got my 225s on tonight!
Ok, they look kinda dull compared to billets. Just wondering if u have tried polishing them up a bit more with Mothers billet polish.
