Paging Mr. Seymore - Clutch Spring Question

How many clutch springs go on the manual transmission? One from the clutch fork to the frame (what I have on my SM465), and/or another one somewhere connected to the clutch pedal? One or two springs? If connected to the clutch pedal, from where to where exactly is it connected. Thanks.

Re: Paging Mr. Seymore - Clutch Spring Question

I'm going from memory here, since my '87 has the hydraulic clutch - but I want to say one spring from the clutch fork to the frame, and no spring on the clutch pedal itself.

Hopefully someone that has a truck more similar to yours can chime in and confirm.

Re: Paging Mr. Seymore - Clutch Spring Question

Thanks, Keith. That's what I have on my truck - one spring on the clutch fork, no spring on the clutch pedal. But so far we have had every combination listed here: clutch fork only, clutch pedal only, clutch fork and clutch pedal. I am asking because I keep losing the adjustment on my clutch fork style spring set up, and I want to make sure that I have the correct configuration of clutch spring. I have the 83 C20 mechanical clutch. The graphic I have seen shows both clutch fork spring and another spring with an orientation I cannot decipher.
