And faster we shall go..
Well I got a phone call from a friend of mine with some bad news. I tuned his F-body a while ago which had a stock motor in it with a rear mount 60mil turbo. We tuned it for 5lbs of boost and it made a decent 430rwhp. Well, the turbo had an issue and next thing you know, he bought a 70mil. After installing it, he did not turn down the boost controller and it went to 15lbs. The motor said He was looking to buy my shortblock out of my Camaro which is biult to spin to 8,200rpm and handle 30lbs of boost. Struck a deal.
Left with no motor for the Camaro, I decided the truck motor would go great in it for a while and would have no problem holding about 10lbs of boost with the larger chamber AFR heads. This will give me plenty of seat time in it at a lower power level once the project actually moves. This now leaves me with no motor for my truck (well, not really, but I'm trying to convince myself of that). So today I ordered up a new shortblock. A nice little alum 418 LS3 that will be set up to handle a 400-500hp hit of N20. I'm thinking stepping up 70ci should get me in the 10's fairly comfortably since I knew there was still a couple tenths on the table with my current 347. Will run it that way for a while, get it working well then step up to some spray. I'm excited

Re: And faster we shall go..
My goodness. What all is done to handle that big of a shot? It can't be your average forged shortblock.

Re: And faster we shall go..
I supose we will Marv.. In due time
I probably won't have much time to do anything for the next 6 months though with school.. Maybe some motor TNT'ing but that's about it. On another note, I was comparing my mph against a buddies 4th gen F-body. He makes 415ish and I make 450ish. 1/8 mile I had him by 3mph, the 1/4 he had me 3mph (so he gained 6mph more than I). Both are autos.. Dam brick walls we race

Re: And faster we shall go..
LOL, yeah I had a guy who builds cars tell me I should cut the 'visor' portion of the roof off and lay it back so air could slip over the windshield / roof. I couldn't help but laugh,, so what would we do about that frontal area above the bumper!! LOL. About a aerodynamic as an apartment complex!!
