question about a deleted post-

yesterday mailbob did this post:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...2&goto=newpost

as far as I can remember his post was about the fact that he screwed up his roof while trying to weld up some rust. he said something about having to get a new roof before he tried anything else with it.

right away memeber jimmy floyd jumped in and said he knew of a roof in a wrecking yard, and he would pull it for him, it didn't look like jimmy was trying to sell him anything, looked more like he was going to do it out of kindness.

I also noticed that jimmy was a premium member, so I thought it was alright for him to offer stuff for sale to others?

anyway I chimed in with a nice detailed post about do's and don'ts about rust repair, and some pics of the area in question.
I thought my post would help them and others with similar questions.

I don't understand why the post wasn't just locked due to whatever infraction it broke, and was just deleted altogether?

if it had been locked the info I put out would at least still be there for people to see in search results...I gues that is why I am asking...

Re: question about a deleted post-

We rarely delete posts. They are usually moved to a review area, and most times just copied there. I am not sure on the post you are asking about. But will look into it and find out.

Jake your post(s) were moved, or edited because they were "Whats it Worth" posts. While it may not have been your intentions, these type of posts can encourage offers to buy. Re: question about a deleted post-

Jake the problem is that it's not about what your intentions were. It's about what it can be turned in to. Your post was reported and a staff member responded to that report.

Re: question about a deleted post-

nice attitude.. makes me want to look that much quicker.

it was moved due to content within it. Pretty much as guessed. I forgot to reply back here, and apologize to the OP for that. Malibob your reply seriously rubs me the wrong way. Calling an admin a thread pirate is just assinine. Consider this a one time warning... attitude with staff does not fly.

Thanks

Re: question about a deleted post-

It was not meant to be taken that seriously- I was kidding around. But speaking ofrubbed the wrong was, I was a little rubbed the wrong way for the deletion of the post. I participate all the time in helping people out on here and was looking for a little help back, in no way was I hunting for parts with that- I merely asked if anyone made new parts and for advice on how to fix my mistake. I like this site a lot and the people on it. If you read my last post on said deleted thread it mentions that.

Lets not get too serious on here or about this subject. This is not work, not life or death and it is just our hobby. I apologize if you were offended by my thread pirate comment and I even though I put an LOL on there but guess not. Thanks for looking into it though and for the input- we will have to agree to disagree on this I guess. I will watch my words more carefully.

Re: question about a deleted post-

Actually for some of this, it is work.. so that theory does not fly. If you had an issue with your post, you could had contacted a staff member. As stated before, it was NOT deleted, but moved to a review area. It normally would had been edited and moved back, but I myself forgot to do so after replying to this post.

One thing to keep in mind, without sounding assy is.. this is a privately owned site, with rules and guidelines set by the owner. At one time it was a hobby for "us" and it has turned into a full time job. So while you get to enjoy the site and just have fun etc.. we (all the staff) put countless hours into keeping it that way for you. Your membership and postings are not a right, but a privilege.. and if something is done that is against the rules, its dealt with accordingly.

I am sorry you had an issue. And would even work with you to resolve it. Just keep in mind to use winks or just kiddings etc, when joking. Its impossible to gauge emotions in posts without them.
