Head light problem

Has any one had the problem with lights don't work unless I hit the high beams

Dimmer switches almost never wear out, but in our trucks they are prone to corrosion. Could be the low beam leg has too much corrosion, or the switch has failed. It could also be coincidental failure of both low beam bulbs, but not likely. In a 4 headlamp system, low beam bulbs have two filaments, a bright filament for regular low beams, and a dim filament which switches on when the high beam circuit is energized. If the low bulbs light up dim when high beams are switched on, the normal (brighter) low beam filaments are probably burned out in both lamps. If they don't light up at all, either they are not getting power, or the ground wire for the low beam bulbs is not providing a decent connection.

You might try cleaning the terminals at the dimmer switch and applying some dielectric grease for a better connection. Also check the bulkhead connector on the driver side of the radiator to make sure it is both connected, and not corroded.

I have 4 light two low and two high
I've also redone all the wiring except the light wiring.
The highbeam light switch is new as well
Oh and my light switch is new

I spent about 2 hrs one night trying to figure that same problem out. I found that the connector block at the actual Bulb was the issue. I opened up the connector and removed the spade connectors and bend the holding clip on them to make the connection with the bulb tighter. I also changed both the headlight switch and dimmer switch initially with no change. I also spoke to another member and he mentioned that he wire brushed the inner dished part of the core support as it acts as a ground.
