Dont know what to buy!
Hey guys, Finally sold a few things and I dont know what to buy. Yes kind of an odd thread but im stuck what would you guys do?
1. Drop my truck and install the CPP 13"/12" brake kit, and fix my drivers side window. 2. Get started on the paint and body 3. Put the money towards a bigger motor? (496 build im going to do) So what would all of you do? The truck is in fine running condition so I dont need to fix anything mechanically. |

Re: Dont know what to buy!
I would fix the window, drop it, and then start on the body work. Since it runs fine, do the engine last.

Re: Dont know what to buy!
fix the window and drop it and put the rest in your truck fix up fund, once you drop that truck your going to be happy with it for the next few months guaranteed!! Your truck looks great as far as paint in those pictures so i think paint and body can wait for a while. I think you can drop it and drive the piss out of it and enjoy those new wheels.

Re: Dont know what to buy!
Was at a company BBQ and had my truck out.. was talking to alot of car guys at work. Think im going to go ahead and fix the window, drop it and then do my brake kit.. Good news is that everyone absolutely loves my truck. The picture I posted it looks to be higher then it really is.

Re: Dont know what to buy!
The djm drop kit is pretty reasonable on summit, i think its under 600 bucks with the c-notch and all, you can go wrong with that, you never told us how much money you had to play with. I still stand by what I say once you drop it, it might be the scratch to your itch and you might just spend that money and save the rest for your future projects.

Re: Dont know what to buy!
If you are looking to go with the CPP brakes, get their modular spindles, and do it at the same time. I bought my drop from CPP, and it was less than very reasonable. I didn't do the modular spindles since I wasn't changing brakes, but everything else I got from them was WC stuff. PM CPP JEFF and he will hook you up.

Re: Dont know what to buy!
That is exactly what I did. Call or PM Jeff. They don't list in in their catalog, but they have it. I got the non modular spindles, flip kit w/ c-notch, shock extenders, ans shackles shipped for a little over $500, and it was all Western Chassis parts. I was pretty pleased with the parts, price, and service. If you are planning on going with them for the brakes, definitely call on them, and let Jeff know you saw them on the forum (to get the discount).

Re: Dont know what to buy!
It depends on the thickness of your rear springs. I ended up a little more, as my springs have 8 regular leaves and a helper leaf. The thicker the spring, the more drop you will end up with.
