May trade my C10 for a K5
The C10 has a fresh rebuilt 327 with 0 miles on it. Needs brackets for the alternator, needs to be timed and she's ready to go.
The K5 has 3/4 ton axles, 350 motor, 350 trans, NP203. Starts right up and runs great. Shifts great, 4x4 works, no rust. He has three extra tires ($300 each) newer than what he has in the pic. Roll bar and rear seat is there, body is straight. Straight up trade. Well here they are should I do it? C10 K5

I only have about $1000 in the motor and another $1000 in tires and brakes.

Re: May trade my C10 for a K5
I'd do it. the blazer is more appealing if/when you try to sell it down the road. No offense at all, the C10 looks like a clean truck, but the C10 doesn't have that eye catching "wow that's awesome" kinda thing, you know?
If the blazer runs and drives good, and he's giving you 3 extra super swampers. I'd go for it...It's got a pretty nice setup. The only thing i'd worry about is if it is truly a 350 , I'd also find out what gears in are in it, make sure they match and the 4x4 works. Being 3/4 ton rears i can only hope it's at least 3.73 with those big tars. 2 Nice trucks. Most importantly, Which one will you have the most fun in and enjoy driving the most? I can say the blazer because i'd hit every mud hole in the state with that thing

Re: May trade my C10 for a K5
i agree.. take this into consideration.. count how many two wheel drive long beds you see then count how many mega lifted clean 4x4 bazers you see on super swampers..
im not knocking your truck at all, i like it, i have one similar, but think of the resale values and the "wow" factor.. i wouldnt even think about it

Re: May trade my C10 for a K5
Thanks for the positive feedback. I have always wanted a 76' K5 (it's the year I was born) and I put my truck up for sale or trade on CL and this was offered. I should have her by the end of the week!
Super excited to go 4xing in the hills with my sons.

Looks like a nice rig with good potential.
You even gained factory A/C even though some of the system is missing. Not too hard to find the other stuff. Have fun with your new toy.
