63 power steering

Just bought a 63 SWB fleetside and want to convert to power steering. I plan to install a 94 LT1 V8 so I will need power steering. Any suggestions what type box will interchange for the power steering upgrade?

Thanks

I believe 71-83 will fit, on the 63 I believe you just need the control arms and spindles as well as box and link assembly, there is a guy on here that sells the adaptor for the frame for the box

Good luck, please post some pics when you get started

Here you go:

there are many other threads on this board too

control arms and spindles will be the same, you might need a different pitman arm.
You will need a adapter/reinforcing plate. CaptainFab is the "guy" on here that makes them. So does REZ engineering.com

Re: 63 power steering

Any truck based steering box from '69-'87 will work. However starting in about 1980-81 GM switched from inverted flare fittings to a metric sized fitting with an O-ring. So if you plan to use the power steering pump from the LT1, then It would make finding hoses easier if you used a box from a '81-'87 pickup or the Suburbans and crew cabs thru '91. The 4x4 boxes are basically identicle, but the sector shaft (output shaft) is different. So stay clear of those.
