Ballpark cost?
What is the ballpark cost of putting the 5.3/4l60e in a 67-72 truck?

Re: Ballpark cost?
Thats a loaded question but if you went and got a 5.3 with the 4L60 for say, $1000...you'd still have another grand to spend getting the harness reworked or replacing it along with a tune, fuel system upgrades, exhaust...
how about a wild guess of $2700...which could be high or low depending on your situation. I'm at double that or more (new 6.0L LY6 crate motor, etc) and haven't even turned the key yet.

Re: Ballpark cost?
I did mine as part of my frame off restoration. I bought the truck without an engine/tranny/exhaust so it really didn't cost much more (if any) than if I would have put a SBC in it.

Re: Ballpark cost?
Cool, I'm thinking about taking the plunge but want to know before I start buying stuff.
