another vancouver island guy!!!!!
Hi All,
I'm in Victoria BC and just bought a 55 GMC step side on Sunday which is in fairly good, (mostly rust free) original condition.....short of no eng/ trans. The overall plan I have is to keep as much as possible original and lay in a modern power plant. The good thing is I already have a 350 with a th400 to drop in so I plan on a short build before I tear it down again. I already did a 4 wheel disc brake conversion on it and had some long nights just looking at it trying to figure out which direction I want to go with it... too many possibilities to consider in the 5 days I've owned it! I've been scouting the board for a while now and I'm glad to see that there is some very experienced people giving out good advice. I've been working on cars/ trucks for over 25yrs but since this is the oldest truck I've ever owned I'm sure I'll need some tech advice at some point. Once again Hi to everyone 55metalmonkey Last edited by 55metalmonkey; 08-13-2010 at 01:54 PM. Reason: spelling |

Welcome from another Victoria guy. I'm pretty new to the site myself, but I've found there's a wealth of information and lots of guys willing to share it.

Re: another vacouver island guy!!!!!
I'll post a few pics as soon as I can figure out how to get them off my camera, and how to post them to the site.
