1960 k-20
i cannot figure out how to keep oil from entering my speedometer cable. i pulled the plug and the speedometer gear and cannot figure out what kept it sealed anybody have this problem?

Threaded metal fitting that the gear slides into, right? Take out the gear and you should be able to see a seal pressed into the fitting.

took that out and nothings there need to c what the seal looks like

Well it's metal-cased, about 1/2" or 5/8" diameter, pressed into the large end of the fitting.
