52" front springs, how many leafs?
I decided to put some 52" springs on the front of the race Blazer. So I got some 52" rear springs from a 1/2 ton 2wd. They are 3 over 1 ( 4 leaf total). I took out the over load and just have 3 springs. Since i only have a 2.5 inch lift on this truck, I'm going to use a slider instead of the shackle. Hopefully this will give me about the same amount of lift.
How many leafs are you guys using? I'm afraid 3 aint gonna be enough. Its nice and soft right now, but axle wrap might be a problem.

Re: 52" front springs, how many leafs?
granted that age/metal fatigue will have an effect on spring height/rate
Heres an example: my crew cab(fact 1 ton D60) is on 3 springs/side at the front, Its a very good ride but keep in mind I have signifigant Front axle weight due to wheelbase(4800 LBS) I say 3 is plenty, try it and see.

But there's lots of informative reading. I really want to put another leaf in, but it looks like the front will be too tall. It will probly relax after some use, but....will it be enough?

Go over to Pirate 4x4 and search under "52" springs", you will get plenty of info and pictures. Read all the info you can before you ask any tech questions, otherwise the guys can be pretty brutal on newbie questions that could have been answered in search. Oh and no charge to see the pics!

You will also be treated like **** if you ask a question about anything. Aparently to be a part of PBB you need to be the ultimate wheeler with more knowledge than God himself.
