The problem with having only one truck....
Is that I have to drive it, no matter what the weather! We got 10 inches of snow in less than 4 hours yesterday! Is this Missouri, or Minnesota? We've had more snow this year than we have in many years past.
I bet Dave's truck has never been this dirty!

Yeah, I remember that pic! But I think mine may be a bit dirtier. However, the pic doesn't do justice.....it looks really nasty in person! I'm sure yours was the same way!
"Ice crapsicles"......LOL!!

It was in the mid 70s here yesterday, and had the air on in the truck today. Cold snap coming tomorrow, somewhere in the mid 50s.

Well, no matter how dirty it gets, I would say 1 truck that runs all the time is better than 4 that always need working on. Maybe if I had one I could focus and make it run more often. Here's my status:
87 - Leaking injector -> diesel spraying on exhaust manifold. Is this bad? 86 - Frame painted, wheels powder coated, otherwise a pile of parts. 84 - Still working on the rear diff. Anyone know how to get stubborn pinion races out? 75 - After carb rebuild won't idle less than 1200 rpm. Diesels when I shut it off with the idle set so high. Anyhow, I keep making progress slowly, I need to quit working so I have more time to work on my trucks!!!

well i got two trucks, a 76 and a 84. i bought the 84 with the plans of driving it while i went to town on the 76. but now i'm so into the 84 the 76 has more or less been abandoned covered up in the backyard with no motor or tranny and completley gutted interior. now i'm gonna have to buy another truck to drive while i tear into the 84 so i can drive it while i do the 76. but if i buy another truck i'll get excited about it and the 84 will end up in the back yard beside the 76 and i'll have to buy another truck to drive while redoing the truck i bought to drive while redoing the 84 so i can drive it while i redo the 76. but then i'll have to buy another truck to drive while i'm redoing the truck i bought to drive while i'm redoing the truck i bought to drive while i'm redoing the 84 so i can drive it while i'm redoing the 76, but then i'll have to buy another truck to drive..... AAAAEEEEIIIIHHHHHH!!!! WILL THE MADNESS EVER END
i wonder if there is a local 73-87 chevy trucks anonymous i can join..... i think i need counseling. |

MUD
Casey, the ONLY advantage I see with 10" of snow is that it covers the 10" of mud underneath it! When it melts, we're gonna have 12" of mud. The county gravel road I live on is falling thru. It's been 8-10 years since I've seen that. I suspect our dry spell is over for a while. Break out the 4x4's!!

The worst thing is, I had a second truck back before winter started: an '86 K-10. Yep, that's right....a 4x4. I'm getting married in 3 months, and I needed the money for other projects. Two days after I sold it, we got the first big snow.....and you know how the rest of the winter has been!

Casey,
I know what you mean. That's why I have two trucks. BADBOW has been parked for almost three weeks due to weather. I need to change the oil and the spark plugs. |

I know exaclty how you feel Casey. I got my truck and the wife's new truck but she drives that to work so I'm stuck at home if I need a part to get. Plus with the ice here in Texas mine is stuck in the driveway until it gets thawed. No way am I driving it out there. I'll take her's
