need help with what set up needed in rear to lay frame..

hey guys im new to c10 an air bags.. i have a project that im working on an i want the truck to lay frame but like maybe ppl i dont want to go broke doing so.. i wanna run a porterbuilt front drop member so that take care of the front. i was also thinking about doing there rearmember but looking on there web site kinda confuses me an everything that i would need inorder to do so. the truck is set up with coils in the rear could i just put a 12in notch in the rear and install the bags?? that just sounds to good to be truck.... once again new to air bags and slamming a truck sorry to sound like a dummy.. thanks for any help an ideas!!

I'm in the process of installing my dropmember rear.
Far as I'm concerned it is definately the best deal out there.
Takes all the guesswork out, Nate builds and supplies a top notch product, his customer service is amazing as well. ( just my 2 cents)

I bought the dm rear kit, it came with:
bolt-in notch kit
bridge
trailing arm x-member
trailing arms
bags and mounts
shocks and mounts
panhard bar
basically everything you need to put her on the ground.

Sounds kind of funny to say you don't want to go broke laying out your truck but you are planning to run all Porterbuilt stuff.

They make great parts and if it is buying his stuff versus paying a shop to do the work then you are probably coming out ahead still.

And here I thought I wasn't charging enough for my stuff!

Building a nice vehicle and doing it right isn't cheap. Be prepared to spend some money if you want quality.

True, and you definately put out some high quality parts.

He didn't say so we don't know if he has the skill level to install a basic weld on 4 link kit VS your bolt on system. If he doesn't have the skills/time/tools to do it himself then Porterbuilt is a great alternative.

i know porterbuilt is the best of the best, i was just woundering if there was a way i can still get it to lay out an still save some cash.. im new to air bags an how everything is set up, and where it needs to be places in order for the truck to lay out, thats why im asking.. keep givin the advise im taking it all in.. thanks guys

What kind of a "budget" are you working with? Also, what skill level do you have? Are you able, or do you have access to somebody who can cut and weld? This information will help determine what type of recommendations you get. If you are able to do a majority of the work, you could save a little green.

Another thing to think about, you could always do this in "stages". You don't have to bite it all off at once.

from what im looking at with the rear unless you wanna do a 4link or porterbuilt rear
you need to z the rear frame or section away where the factory trailing arms will hit the frame, you still need to modifiy the rear crossmember, honestly for the money if you spending the cash for a front dropmember why not just spend a little more and have everything done right

I understand what u guys are saying.. i built a 63 nova and u get what u pay for when it comes to buying parts, an no doubt about it that porterbuilt makes the best out there, i was just seeing wthat other poptions i might have. I have the skills and tools to do the job myself,im just new to air bags and how to set them up the right way.. thanks for all your guys help and inputs, helping me learn new things..

My advice before you jump the gun on anything, is just research exactly all the parts needed for air bags alone minus dropmembers. Tanks valves and plumbing alone can be pricey.
