Even though it has a dodge engine....it's a chevy on a doge forum

but it still looks like a nice truck...I love the wheels

The fact this guy stuck that transmission in his truck is awesome, that would be fun driving around town shifting like crazy! That truck is awesome cool.

Cool truck but shifting every couple seconds sucks. I drive in town a lot with 5.13 gears and a manual trans in a city with poorly timed stop lights. I literally up or down shift over 100 times in a 10 mile drive. You get tired of it pretty quick.

That four foot tall shifter is nuts.

It's an engine FROM a Dodge, not a Dodge engine. The only problem with Cummins is that they put it in Dodge! This truck is the solution to that problem!

I'm with you guys too. Definately not a Dodge engine, in the 80s you could actually get a Cummins in our trucks!

it was first in 89 that the dodge trucks came with cummins engines
ford also some sort of a deal with cummins

The only deal ford had with cummins was they used to own 49% of cummins stock. Ford had rights to use cummins engines in their medium duty trucks. Basically their Louisville line of trucks. Still today the only way you can get a cummins in a ford is in a F-650, or maybe the heaviest F-550. The craziest thing is that on most 03-up super duty's, the belt routing stickers have 3.9's and 5.9's listed. Guess what they are? European models.

I agree that trans is not a good idea. I'm sure the cool factor wore off after he drove it for a couple days or weeks. I would like to see how he did the stub shaft to his divorced tcase. I noticed it still has no front drive shaft as well. Definitely cool for sure.

First off ford has never owned any part of cummins.
Second You can only get a cummins in a F650

Did I say ford owned cummins? Read. They owned cummins stock. That's a fact. Cummins bought out ford's stock shares in the late 90's. And I have seen 5.9's in some special order F-550's with my own 2 eyes straight from the blue diamond lot. I don't know what to tell you.

I would have done some details like the wheels dash and shifter different, but all in all it's a nice truck.

My peterbilt has a 13 in it, thats why my pick ups have automatics. As light as that dually is he probably does not use the low side much empty. BTW they are rated between 900 and 1800ft lbs so you cant hurt it ever
