Re: rear end
Direct bolt in an s-10 rear is going to be the closest.

Re: rear end
Any 1/2 ton truck rear up to about 69 will be very close to stock width and will let you keep the 6 lug pattern, if that is important. You might have to move the spring mounts though.
The S-10 rear is quite a bit narrower than stock, but would be good if you are going after the deep wheel look. Ray |

Re: rear end
Not really a dumb question, a lot of rear ends will fit here is my 53 with a 74 nova rear end. I am using 8inch wheels with 4 inch backspacing and 235/60-15 tires. I also have 2 in lowering blocks.

Re: rear end
I'm using a '73 Chevelle wagon rear under mine.

Re: rear end
Skip the S10. They are too narrow, even in 4x4 unless you can get a ZR2. Camaro is OK. S10 4x4 needs spacers or deeper wheels. Search for Mongo's Garage, he had a list.

Re: rear end
Put a 9-inch in it with 31 inch splines, out of 79 f150 the passenger side is perfect and only have to cut the drivers side. Running 10-inch rims in back with 8 in front... 265/60r15 in the back custom ordered them with 3-inch white wall.. If you gonna put some muscle in the car go with the 9-inch...and slammit with air ride.
