custom Steering Wheel

Anybody know where you can find the custom steering wheels...
LMC, Brothers, ????? Anyplace?

And is it a WHOLE custom wheel or is the chrome center just the custom?

Re: custom Steering Wheel

I have never seen a deluxe steering wheel on any of the aftermarket supplier websites. I would also like to have one. My truck came with one, but it was in pretty bad shape and me (not knowing any better at the time) threw it away thinking I would just buy a new one from a cataloge

It looks like it's the same steering wheel as the base one; just a fancier horn button/trim ring.

Re: custom Steering Wheel

There are threads on the deluxe steering wheels, they come up for sale quite often. Saw an NOS one on ebay recently for 60-65. 66 would be harder to find.

Re: custom Steering Wheel

Ok, I have a stupid question. How can you tell the difference between the two steering wheels if they don't have the horn button?

I have seen many steering wheels for these trucks in the salvage yards, but none of them have the horn button. How can I make sure I get the one I want.

Re: custom Steering Wheel

The Deluxe wheel has wider tapered forks with grooves in it. Around the horn button you'll find two holes each side of the steering shaft.

If you are looking for the Deluxe steering wheel for the '66 (like the one in the photo), you'll have to search for a 1966-67 Chevy II Nova steering wheel. The Deluxe steering wheels in our trucks before '66 was the one that Aerotruk63 posted - '59-'62 El Camino, Biscayne, etc.
