Found at the pull and save
I could not believe when I saw what they had drug into the pull and save today. Does anyone know what the tow hooks on the front are from? Are they universal ones?

That thing is SWEET. Would be nice for someone to salvage it and restore it back to original.

Re: Found at the pull and save
I would at least grab that pinstriped door, it would look great on the garage wall!

Re: Found at the pull and save
Neat old firetruck. The tow hooks were probably standard equipment on it.

Re: Found at the pull and save
I'd be pulling every part usable off that thing. Headlights, buckets, trim, grill, dash gauges, I mean everything. No sense in letting that stuff get crushed someday. Can you say EBAY.

Re: Found at the pull and save
That shouldn't even be there in the first place. Same goes for the two next to it. What's wrong with people?

Re: Found at the pull and save
If you go back, I want the GMC emblem from the front if you can grab it and it's cheap enough.

Re: Found at the pull and save
Isn't that the same truck that someone advertised a while back, and said that if no one bought it he would sell it for scrap? I thought he was bluffing about the scrap part, but I guess he wasn't.
It looks complete, maybe even running. I hope someone buys it before it get's crushed. |

Re: Found at the pull and save
Those fire trucks are usually pretty rust free unless they have been sitting outside for years.
I have one of those hooks that came with one of the 51 Chev 1-1/2 tons I bought last spring and am pretty sure that they are a GM unit that probably was sold through the dealers parts counter. That front bumper sure would look good on my 1-1/2 ton but that fire truck looks ten time better right now than my truck does. Cut the bed/box down so a ramp bed would work on it with trimmed down tool boxes and set it on later 1 ton running gear. Last edited by mr48chev; 10-22-2010 at 09:46 PM. |
