12'' wide rally wheels.....
I found a pair of truck rally wheels that had been widened to 12"....the guy told me the offset was enough that the rearend wouldn't need to be shortened, but I was wondering if I was going to run into any other type of clearance issues.....was thinking about a 315 series tire, but wasn't too sure...Hopefully it would fit without any major modifications..
My '87 GMC is lowered approx. 3''...(looks to be just a shackle flip)....so I would think it should be alright....I just bought this truck last week, and have been trying to gather up parts for a re-do next year....Any input would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!-------------Ed |

Re: 12'' wide rally wheels.....
I think my brother-in-law is running 315/60/15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials on the rear of hi truck. He has 15x12 Weld wheels with 7.5 inches of backspace and it is low, low, low. It just clears the leafs and the bed sides . He had to widen the rear wheel tubs but it clears everything else.

Re: 12'' wide rally wheels.....
Thanks for the help/info guys........The tubs would have to be cut as f.monroe stated earlier, but that would be it from what I have found out. There would be no frame or leafspring issues to contend with.... I'll see what the bottom dollar are on the rims and if reasonable, I'm going to pick them up and stick them in the garage.....I've got a friend that could cut out the tubs for me later on after I get tires for the wheels...... sucks tho, cause I just bought a set of 15x7 and 15x8 rally wheels at the swap meet Saturday...Maybe I could sell those, and find some van rallies for the front....
