SWB Bedsides
SOLD LOCALLY FOR $2000...
Pair of restored 67-72 SWB bedsides. These were rust-free bedsides that I bought in Sacramento. They have been split apart, sandblasted inside and out, rust-proofed then welded back together. After re-assembly, bodywork was finished and they were blocked out so they are ready for a show-quality paint job. Pictures of the complete restoration process is available to interested parties. A lot of work has been put into these. I am looking to get $2000 for the pair. Shipping from Canada will probably kill the deal but I am only 4 hours from Spokane, WA so a meeting somewhere in the Pacific NW could be arranged. (Wheel tubs shown in the picture are included and I will throw in a front panel and rear cross sill for wood floor - unrestored but in decent shape).

Re: SWB Bedsides
What did you use to rustproof the inside?

Re: SWB Bedsides
There are 2 "thick" coats of R/M Epoxy Primer. Similar to DP90 but, according to my bodyman, it is a "better" product. We have used rust converter on the insides of some parts before applying epoxy but these boxsides didn't need any (there was no rust to convert).

Re: SWB Bedsides
For anyone who might be interested, I am open to reasonable offers. I've still got way too much "crap" in my life and would like to move a few things (And by crap, I mean beautiful rust-free sheet metal ).

Re: SWB Bedsides
As a matter of fact, I do... Here's a picture. Before I bought it, there must have been a dent banged out near the top front corner (area painted black) and there is a shallow crease in the lower front cup area. Other than that, there is a bit of surface rust but that's it. How does $125 plus shipping sound? We could probably use greyhound to get it up there... Shouldn't be much more than 30 or 40 bucks.

Re: SWB Bedsides
Thanks... As most probably know, there is a lot of effort needed to restore pieces to this level of quality. They are a bit pricey but worth it IMHO.

Re: SWB Bedsides
Great looking bedsides!
I hate to be a bother, but seeing as your in BC too its worth a shot, do you have any extra tailgates your willing to part with? I have like ten trucks and not one has a decent gate

Are you building another truck because it doesn't look like your blue one needs them .
If you're interested, I could probably drive them down to Bend and meet you.

Re: SWB Bedsides
Just got my hands on a 68 anniversary but it is a long bed.....debating on my approach to making it a short bed! I appreciate the offer, but spending that much isn't in the budget quite yet.

What do you think it will cost to get these to 75126 by freight?

Re: SWB Bedsides
I did some quick checking on what it would cost to ship from Spokane, which is about 4 hours away from me, and it looks like it would probably between $300 and $500. Unfortunately, we're talking about 2000+ miles and reasonably heavy items so it's not going to be cheap.
I received your PM about a possible "lay-away" plan. At this point, I would rather have cash-in-hand so I am going to give these until "spring" to sell. If I still have them around at the end of May, I'll get in touch and see if we can work something out. If that happens, I might have a plan for shipping as well. I have a few friends who spend the winter in Arizona... I could probably get one of them to take them down for me. Thanks again for the offer.
