transmission crossmember question
are the transmissions in the trucks/blazers the same and in the same position regardless of configuration? so would a c20 with a 4sp have same as a k5 with a th350?
Thanks, David |

Re: transmission crossmember question
The amount of drop in the crossmember depends on the trans/t-case that was used. They are not all the same. If the same tranny and t-case are used in a Blazer or Truck (TH350/NP205 or SM465/NP205), the same crossmember would be used in the truck as the Blazer.

i'm using a 2wd frame and converting to 4wd using a rusty blazer. would it simply be a mater of drilling out the rivets and reinstalling with bolts?

Re: transmission crossmember question
no the crossmembers auto and manual are not in the slightest bit interchanable in any way shape or form, nowhere near the same mounting locatation, nowhere near the same cahassis width //there is nothing at all similar in mount look or appearance of the two// manual is riveted tto frame auto is bolted in frame location about 3feet rear of where the manual tranny mount is

Re: transmission crossmember question
Also, 4WD is different from 2WD.
