Biggest rear tires on 85 SWB C10
What would be the biggest tires I could fit if I lower the truck 5/7? Being that I want skinnies in the front and some nice sized meats out back using a 15x10 rim and without having to tub the truck. Also what kind of back spacing would this take from the rim?
This will be my crusier / bracket truck and not my balls out race vehicle. Probably gonna stick some MT ET Street drag radials out back unless anyone else has some suggestions. Right now the truck has a cammed out 355 centerbolt SBC with 750 double pumper, heddman long tubes, 2.5 x pipe and 2.5 true dual bullet mufflers dumped after the cab. Its just enough to get it the body shop to have it painted, the interior replaced then back to me so I can have the fuel system, gauge panel with all the switches for the electric water pump, electric fans, etc, etc, etc all hooked up. |

325/50/15 mickey drag radial should fit in the factory tubs, not sure how being that low will hurt clearance.....they also make a 315/60 radial that's like 30" tall and a lil bit narrower. I run the 325's for street tires on my camaro (slicks for the track), so if you need some measurements I can get em for ya.

Re: Biggest rear tires on 85 SWB C10
Thanks bro I really appreciate it. I think I am going to go with something along the line of a 28 inch tall tire. I just wish I knew what kind of back spacing to work with.

Re: Biggest rear tires on 85 SWB C10
I ran a set of 18x9.5's with 5.5" bs and 295/35/18 tires on an '84 I once had. It was dropped 4/6 and had no rubbing or clearance issues at all. Honestly, I think with a 10" wide rim, you could run 5" of bs, and tuck just fine. You should do a little measuring just to make sure, but those squarebody trucks have a lot of room back there.
