towing with air bags
Can I put air bags on my DD truck and still haul my race truck to the track? If so, what air bags do you recommend?

Re: towing with air bags
What is your DD?
I used to haul hay in the back of my '69 with a c notched frame and Slam Specialties RE6 bags in the rear. I think the most I did was about 1200lbs and I had about 65lbs of air in the bags. The truck was sitting like nothing was in the bed and it drove well. There are quite a few tow rigs on here that are bagged.

I have a 2006 GMC truck and wanted to air bag it. I'm new to air bags and was curious if it was even possible

Re: towing with air bags
Yes, it's possible w/the right equipment. Ride Tech offers bolt-in kits to give you an idea of what it takes.

Re: towing with air bags
Are you looking at bagging the entire truck or just the rear? You can maintain and in most cases increase tow capacity with an air suspended truck when done right with the proper air spring. That is one of the many benifits to an air suspension is an adjustable spring rate at the fly. If you have any questions feel free to pick my brain.

Re: towing with air bags
I was looking to building trailing arms in place of the leaf springs and adding a wishbone. Does this help? But still want to haul my 3800# truck to the track..

Re: towing with air bags
Bags located on the axle = sleeve style. Bags located on a leverage arm (link bar, truck arm, etc...) utilize a dbl convoluted bag. The actual bag needed depends on the vehicle weight, intended use, & available space.

Re: towing with air bags
Bags over the axle is generally prefered when towing.

Re: towing with air bags
I would recommend the Firestone F9100s for what you are looking to do...
