Nice truck. I wish he would have taken better pics, like a full side shot.

Thats what I was thinking, I have never understood how that much money can go into something. Sure is nice but doesn't look like $100,000 invested in this thing at all.

Re: $$$ Crewcab on ebay

He could easily have 100K in that if he paid for labor and a top quality paint job. Just the parts on the engine and interior (gauges, leather, etc.) were probably 25K if he bought retail....

...that being said....it's probably more realistic from 35-40K.

Wow what a mixed up bunch of feedback! Are some of you my friends? I'm used to getting stabbed in the back!I built this truck about 5-6 years ago when the economy was good!I have built it to what it is today...I have way too much in it...but that's how it goes!If the econmy was better it would have no problem getting over $100k on Barrett-Jackson! But with the way it is and still an avid Chevy truck fan even with your responses...I choose to entertain offers and will consider partial trades! If it was yours would you GIVE it away? I didn't think so!

I agree that people need to stop putting down other's rides but I've been guilty of it in the past as well so I can't say much. My post actually was defending your truck and that you probably do have over 100K in it. I stand behind the 35-40K price i think it will fetch because of the economy. We've seen a primo show truck that is a magazine cover truck and top ten for the trucks of the year sell for 42K...AT Barret Jackson

All that being said....someone may see the truck and fall in love with it and give you your asking price or close to it because they realize it would take them a long time to build a truck like that, it's rare, and has a lot of money invested into it. Hope you sell it for what you're looking for!

66Crewcab first let me say welcome to the forums, It was not my intent to dis your ride by posting it. Second you know what they say about opinions everybody's got one. I don't think anyone was stabbing you in the back here. I can only give you my opinion that I was awestruck at the amount of $$$ invested in it and the buy it now price. I hope you can recoup most of your investment in the truck and I apologize if I upset you. I'm just a retired truck driver the most I ever made in a year is $45,000...Vernski:

I like the truck, just as a quick addup in my head I came up with 40k, and thats just guessing at what stuff cost, and how much had to be done.
there is no reason why it couldn't have taken double that to build.
a real nice 64 hammered across barret j. last year for 106k, and it was said it took 140k to build, some guys questioned the prices, but then others (body shop people) chimed in that it was entirely possible, especially at 80-90 $ shop rates and 4000+ hours of labor.

regardless of what it cost to build, if I had it I would probably want the same $$ no reason to sell a rare nice piece if you don't have to, but if someone wants it that bad then why not?

I would love to see you post up some more pics and history of the truck.
I saved those 2 pics of it a few years back, and thats all I have so far.

Your truck is awesome, no arguments from anyone here! No one here though is stabbing you in the back, we are merely reacting to the original $85,000 buy it now price that you listed. Sadly I too know how quickly the investment in a vehicle build adds up, especially if any of it is done by others. The sad fact of the matter is the market will only bear a realistic amount when it comes time to sell.

Hopefully all will work out well for you.

Re: $$$ Crewcab on ebay

Thanks for the kind words! I also work for my money and I never buy a finished vehicle because of the price! I appreciate what people turn their projects into!To me my truck is done as far as I want to go with it! It has 200 miles on it and runs and drives great.but I'm relutant to drive it too much in case things might happen to it!It just sits in a garage undercover! I own a truck shop www.protrucks.us and I pride myself on our work and our handshake and our word still meens something to me! I'm not good on the computor or else I'd put a bunch of our work on this site!
Thanks again

Re: $$$ Crewcab on ebay

That truck is awesome and I know it cost big bucks to build it, I have close to 40K in mine and I bought everything either used or discounted that I could. I also did all the work except the body and paint .You can't even get anything painted for 8k anymore, which is what mine cost and mine isn't black and long, plus it was rust free, nothing is cheap anymore.

Re: $$$ Crewcab on ebay

66, Although I didnt comment prior, I will now. My dad's Crew was in remarkable shape but it needed its share of repairs, it only came to him as a cab shell. I know he did almost all the physical work to it, but it set him back at least $40k before paint work and interior. I would love to be able to buy that truck from you, but as you stated prior the economy and my bank account hinders that tremendously. I know your proud of you efforts and you should be IMO. I really hope you do well in your sale and that the person who buys your truck treasure it as it should be.

BTW, the $85k buy it now price isnt out of line at all IMO, just finding one of those CC's is hard enough, let alone doing the fantastic job you did on the build.

I do have 1 question if you dont mind, is the frame original or did you have to fab one?

Re: $$$ Crewcab on ebay

Hi thanks for the comments! The frame is all stock and the(Stageway Coachworks) did an amazing job considering 1966 technolgy! They did well on the cab as well...there was very little putty used in the conversion and the fit and finish was real nice when stock! It's much better now but I chose to keep it original as I could and not hide the door hinges and keep the little area between the doors stock.I let in the hands of a friend to market it and he's letting me down by throwing the price all over the place!First $85k now I see it's at $65k! For that price I might buy it myself! LOL The truck is still and will be in my garage till money transacts! I like to build them not look at them and clean them! I thought about turning into a daily driver but it's a real pain to clean and I have a 72 3/4 ton sub 4x4 that I drive daily and with winter hitting...The crew won't see any snow!

Re: $$$ Crewcab on ebay

Ya know, there really are not many 60-66 Crew cabs in the first place, in the second place, with the v8 AND PG, most came stripped, with barely a heater.

I sure hope you get a decent bid and are able to part with it. Sometimes our hobby drives me nuts, it seems that when I want to sell something, no one wants it or they only offer pennies, but when I want something, it is higher than a jack rabiits jump.

As a part time painter I can tell you that alot of time went into making that looooooooong body that straight. Crap I would charge 79,999 just to buff that beauty. Good luck with the sale, wish I had an extra hundred grand sitting around.

Re: $$$ Crewcab on ebay

Very nice truck. I as well was awed when I saw the price, but I also know how much these projects will absorb without a clue. It starts out small and snow balls fast, and when you're building a custom anything, the sky seems to be the limit. Good luck with the sale. If you need help with getting other stuff loaded on the truck board, we can definitely help you out.

***** On Edit****
On the specialist page on your website, that K5 Blazer is dang sweet! You have some coool trucks on your site! Nice work!
