New GM door to cab seal = really hard to close door :(
Obviously its becuase the seal is new, but for those who have installed new seals, about how long did it take for the gaskets to settle down and regain a normal closing door. Im not too happy with the opend box I recieved.. the gasket wasnt in a nice coil as I figured it to be in but.. anyway Its installed so no turning back now. It had a few flattened spots but Im sure it will even out. Maybe on the other side, I will lay the seal outside to get warm before putting it in the truck too?

You have to slam the door. Not because the seal is new, but because the seal is tight(air tight cab), it's air pressure from the door closing. I had a K10, when I bought it the P.O. had put new seals on it 6 months before. I had it a year and the doors still had to be slammed shut.

Re: New GM door to cab seal = really hard to close door :(
Third street is right on. There's no place for all that air to go when you are slamming the door, particularly with a regular cab truck.
I normally roll the window down a bit, or keep my door open while waiting for my passenger to close their door (then slam mine). I haven't tried this, but I suspect if you take the little flapper valve out of the vents in the bottom of the door (the "PRV", or Pressure Relief Valve) it might allow a bit more airflow and help the situation. The tradeoff is that you might get a little more cold air creeping in during the winter months. K
