brakes and more, help please.

hey guys, so im doing some research for brakes i should run on my truck, and got excited seeing the deal on the d52 calipers that scotts is running right now. im talking with them to see whatll work but i figured id toss it to the board aswell. now im trying to figure this all out.....

ive got a 69 c10, no fiberglass, twin turbo 408LS(800hp-ish estimate), 4l80e, 12bolt, full cage with an 88-98 sportside box on the back. used as a street/strip, NON DD! so im running into issues with REEEAAALLLYY wanting to run the weld racing RT-S wheels on the truck for a few reasons (style, will just look wicked with my paint scheme, and because i like them! haha).

so heres where im running into issues.

with a cpp modular 2.5" drop spindle, for d52 calipers, 12" rotors wont get a 5x4.75 pattern rotor (that is i guess without re-drilling). however i would be able to upgrade to a 13" brake assembly for the 5x4.75 but the brakes wont fit inside the 15" weld wheel.

so i could up to a 17" wheel up front and problem solved 13" brake assembly fits, however now if i go 17" for the front do i go 17" out back too? the m/t et street radial i want to run out back only comes (for a 17" wheel) at 26x11.50R17 which would be a smaller tire then i want to run.

and again what about out back? i know theres adaptors sold by captainfab to mount the d52's onto the 12bolt. seems straight forward mount bolt and go. but now im possibly running a 17" wheel up front and a 15" in the back so i can get the 30x13.50R15 i want in the back? is that gonna look weird? do i just go 17" all around?

or do i just go with different wheels altogether and stay 5x5 keepin it simple...

decisions.... man they are tough. sorry for the long write-up, any input/advice/opinion welcome! if ive wrote something wrong please correct me!

Thanks!

Re: brakes and more, help please.

If it will solve your problem, Performance Online sells a 12" 5 on 4.75" rotor.

My choice would be to go with 17's all around so you can run a larger brake up front and the D52 in the rear. Going fast is fun, but stopping faster is fun..er
