NOS 69-70 grill
I bought this many years ago in a GM box. I did some research on here to confirm that it is indeed a NOS grill. The thread I pulled up says the horizontal grill lines should extend all the way to the headlights, although my original 69 does not. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...1969+grill+nos
Mostly just wanting to be certain this is NOS before advertising and get an approximate value. The grill does have heavy scuff marks at both headlight areas. The inner is a repop I added after purchasing the grill. Any help is appreciated. Sharpie |

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
Here's the picture of an original grill. Seems to match up. Is there a part number stamped anywhere on the original GM pieces? Thanks, Sharpie

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
The scuffs will definitely detract some from the value...do you still have the box?
Re-read the thread and looked at my original grille and remembered the ones I got (GM licensed reproductions) were like the one you're showing w/out the bars going to the end. They were going for 7-800 2 yrs ago New in the GM box on ebay...recently the only ones i've seen sell have been 500-550.... Is it oxidized or just dusty? If oxidized (dulling) I'd say 350-400 with the scuffs taken into consideration... If it cleans up and the scuffs are minor...400-450 If you find the box...450-500... assuming you're including the inner....but all that's my humble opinion

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
Thanks for the info. Just dusty from being in a dirty shop. Still have the box. Just curious about none of my original grills going to the end either. Sharpie

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
Pics of the box end. I did get a little suspicious today when I couldn't read any of the part #'s and one looks like it might have a little white out on it. Sharpie

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
Sharpie,... I have a NOS outer grille in a box that I purchased from my local GM dealer in 1995.
It looks just like yours. I'm not sure what made GM change the "horizontal" line issue. (maybe a new set of dyes at the factory) But,... most original trucks that I have seen,.... have the lines that extend all the way to the headlight bezel. Your's, in my mind, is still an original GM outer grille.

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
If it was mine,... I wouldn't take less than $450-$500 for it.
(but I'm a parts hoarder)

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
Thanks for the info. Both of my original 69 grills (never been changed) match the new one. Just a little gun shy about listing it as NOS if it's not. I back up everything I sell and would rather keep it than have an unhappy buyer. On a side note, just talked to a buddy that is from Fulton. He's a real card, works at the state hospital.... go figure. Sharpie

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
I would say 4-500 if it cleans up good. Or trade for 2 cases of coors...
I also have one in the gm box with a date of 1976 on it and the lines don't go all the way. I don't think chevy had a part number on the grill. GMCs did.

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
I agree with the above posts... from all the information I have read through, your grill is an NOS GM replacement grille. It's as close to an NOS grill there is.
That is actually what is running on my truck.

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
Yours looks the same as the NOS one I recently sold and installed,
I took out of the orginal box, It had been sitting on the shelf for over 25 years... Sold it for $750 with a very nice used OEM inner and headlight bezels.. Last edited by Livrat; 12-14-2010 at 11:43 PM. Reason: spelling |

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
i agree with Mark. i have a NOS 71-72 outer and wouldn't take any less IF i was going to sell it. a buddy of mine recently sold one of his NOS outers for 1100 plus some misc. parts-the guy wanted it bad.

Re: NOS 69-70 grill
I bought 2 of them , gm in the box in 1991 and they are the same as yours..black lines go over and stop..
My 69 K/20 has the factory grille in it still , the lines go all the way to headlight. gmpartsdirect is showing a new 69-70 outer grille shell for $498.98 part# 3985054 |
