sandblaster
 can anyone tell me the best working small sandblaster out there. one that will work on playground sand or cheap sand. i have a small one ( craftsman ) but it will not pick up the pg sand. I also just tried some media blast from hf with no luck.

I always had to screen playground sand to get it to blast. I use a blaster like the 110 lb blaster they sell at harbor frieght. I found it is best to buy fine grade blasting sand as it is screened and dry and ready to go right out of the bag. It's only about $7 a 100 lb bag here, so its not that much more expensive. which blaster do you have? is it siphon or pressure pot?

it is the siphon craftsman model small portable. not working very well have to get on and off the trigger constantly which is a pain in the finger!!! I have a 5 horse 20 gallon compressor

playground sand is a very poor choice. it is tumbled for smoothness and doesnt cut well in blasting. blasting sand has sharp edges and cuts very good when blasting. plus alot of playground sand has higher moisture content causeing poor blasting performance. then theres the worry of where it is mined and if there is salt content in some playground sand
i've found generally those cheap siphon blasters marginal at best, nothing like a pressurized unit. water filtration is oof the utmost importance blasting air must b dry when blasting full skin and eye protection is a must as well as good respirator

sound advice from cdowns, I doubt that you will get satisfactory results with that compressor. blasters are air hogs and mine run my comp. pretty hard and its a 5.5 hp 80 gallon. let us know how it works.

Ive heard if you take your time and let your compresser build up it does the job just fine but it takes longer of course. I have around the same compresser you have and am looking for a blaster so youll have to let us know how it works!
