engine stand and mount pics please
ok I am trying to get my engine in place. I have a 60 apache which the frame is shorter and narower than most of yours so I am having to cut and weld and make spacers. so I am trying to get the ls1 in the correct spot I have aftermarket stands and adjustable mounts so I can basically get it in any location. I want to see some pics of your engine mounting locations so I can get an idea of where it needs to sit in relation to the control arms if this makes sence. please post pics of your engine mounts with engine mounted in vehicle.

Re: engine stand and mount pics please
heres what an ECE setup looks like:
Then I started messing with TransDapt plates and 6cyl stands then finally SBC V8 stands and the plates. It could go back further then where it wound up.

Re: engine stand and mount pics please
You keeping the torsion bar? How much is the difference between the rails for your 61 and say my 65? on my 65 I had to take about 1" off the top of the frame rail on each side so the POL perches would bolt up, but no big deal since the 68-72 have the same amount taken off from the factory to accommodate a BB.

Re: engine stand and mount pics please
I have a front suspension from an 80 model with disc brakes. my frame is 1" shorter than the newer trucks. I had to add 1" to the top and cut out 1/4" from the side to make the motor mounts work.
