Should I sacrifice this longbed
I am torn with what to do with this truck. I drove it home 70 miles and it runs great but I bought it with the intention of using it for a parts truck for my shortbed but it is a really solid truck. It would almost be an easy restore and it would give me a longbed, a shortbed and the suburban. What would you guys do with it.

Re: Should I sacrifice this longbed
Really rusty? if not, I say no way. I'm a longbed guy... and that truck has it all!
C'mon! ... big window, auto, A/C... how about V8?, PS?, PB? You don't see too many so well equipped. I mean hardly ever! ...A parts truck?? HA! Where did you find it? And if you bought it for parts, that means you got it cheap, right? |

Re: Should I sacrifice this longbed
It's nicer than any of mine.
I'd suggest you either restore it, or put a bit of elbow grease into it, sell it for a profit, then use the cash to buy an actual parts truck. (or just more parts) Have fun, no matter what you do with it

I noticed that it has what I think are dual fuel fillers? is that what this is in the bed sides?

Re: Should I sacrifice this longbed
It has 2 extra gas tanks in it , that is what the bed side sheet metal is for. Honestly I bought it for parts but I have had it for 6 months now and it has grown on me. It has a non original 307 but also has PS and PB, it also came with an extra PS setup. The original windshield is still in it and no chips or cracks. It does have the usual rust in the lower fenders but thats it.I paid 2000 for it but it has that in parts alone so that is why I bought it.

Re: Should I sacrifice this longbed
I think it's unanimous - fix er up! Since it was bought as a parts truck, you can look at it as a freebie! Or sell it, it sure looks nice. But IF you do part it out... ah, put me down for ever factory a/c part that's left on it....

Re: Should I sacrifice this longbed
I agree as well, fix it up, or forward it on to someone to fix up. A little elbow grease, cleaning it up even more, you may be able to flip it for a little profit.

Keep it in tact. Find another parts truck.

Re: Should I sacrifice this longbed
I think it might be a good truck to restore to stock.
