Is the "owner protection plan" stamped with the vin #
Please take a look at the righthand side of the owner protection plan. Does anyone know if that is the vin # for the truck? Or is it something else? Thanks.

I think it was handwritten in those at the dealership when the truck was sold.
The "Protecto plates" that came later had the vin stamped in them. |

Thank you. I thought that the punched numbers on the righ hand side of the owner protection plan was the vin. I had the question because the numbers weren't matching with the model numbers on the truck.

OK if that is the vin # and the truck was originally an inline 6, then either it is not the right owner protection plan or the glove box information has been switched. Does that seem right. See additional pic.

I have a 1972 Jimmy with the original protecto-plate. The vin number on the title and the door jamb and the protecto-plate all match.

We are looking at the model number instead of the VIN, but no, that book is not original to your truck being your model number says it is a V8 truck.
Off topic... I don't think I've seen a 68 with cruise |
