s10 / GM Wheel Fitment Question
I found a list of GM vehicles that have the same size wheel and bolt pattern as the s10's. The list says that all RWD GM cars from 1955-1988 have either 14s or 15 with the matching 5 X 4.75 bolt pattern. My question is will these wheels work on the s10. I didnt know if the backspacing/offset was different on car rims and truck rims. Im looking for the stock OE steel rims. thanks for any info.

i'm using 79 chevy caprice wheels on my 54 gmc the have the same back spacing as the s10 wheels.

I ran 15"gm ralley wheels on my s-10. I have the gm ralleys on my 59 as well.

Some of the bigger GM cars ran a 5x5 bolt pattern like the Olds 98 and Pontiac Bonnevilles and possibly early 70 Impalas, I had a 81 caprice that ran 5x 4 3/4. The 2WD S10 uses the same wheels as 80's Montes,Grand Prix , Cutlass, Camaro, Nova,Corvette Firebirds. I saw that the 2010 GMC terrain runs the 5x 4/34 bolt pattern. The 2010 Camaro also runs the same bolt pattern but they are a postive off set like the 4WD S10 trucks

I'm doing the S10 conversion myself and find this one of the biggest pain in the a$$es...
With the stock 4x4 rear end and regular S10 rims, I find they run pretty narrow to the box sides, if not rubbing on them and severely tucked under the front end. I ended up picking up a set of steelies that would fit and started playing with the offsets. Cutting the centers out, flipping them, dialing them in to within 0.020" of straight and rewelding them on a 2 1/2" backspacing pushed them pretty far out in the rear (within 1/2" of the rear fenders) and the same up front, they're not too bad and give the old school deep dish look. The problem I find with this is that your choice of aluminum rims is greatly diminished with that level of offset, so unless you want to run spacers (I detest them) then you're forced to use what you can find and somewhat like.... Just what I've found... and still working on it... Cheers, Ted.

Jimmy54, those are exactly what Im looking for. I went to 2 junkyard today and the selection was poor to say the least. With scrap prices up, both yards were practically empty. Thanks for posting the pix. Im trying to keep cost down as much as possible so I think Im going the same ones you have. thanks again
