427 lsx
I have a hard time with the search function on some websites out here in the sandbox and just needed to know if someone can provide me some info on building a 427 LSX based motor. It is a dream motor that I will start collecting parts for once I get my 6.0 swapped into my truck. I really need the best bore/stroke combination. I am looking at 2 different routes as far as what I would consider "done" in the engine compartment either a 427(I would just like to say I have a 427 under the hood) or a turbo'd 390" LSX based motor.

Re: 427 lsx
I'd want a 4.125 bore and 4" stroke to get your 427ci. You need an LS7 block or aftermarket. You can also sleeve an aluminum factory block, but it's pricey. People are doing 427ci LS3 strokers with 4.07" bore and 4.125" stroke, but that makes for a really short piston IMO. If you're gonna spend the money, go for the biggest bore you can afford so you can take advantage of todays cylinder head technology.
