We're ditchin the stock wheel and would like something a bit smaller. Thought about a billet design but wanted to see what others have done?

Any other models drop in without a kit?

What other sites or wheels have you used to buy one?

I used the chevelle, vega wheel, works great for gauge visibility, they sell on Ebay for no too much and are sporty. Perfect diameter I think they are 14 to 14.5.

I'm currently using a wheel out of a 70's Jeep. I modified the horn button and put a bowtie emblem in it. I've used this wheel in 4 different vehicles ( all Chevys ). I recently bought a repro comfort grip wheel used in 69-70 Chevelles and Camaros, but haven't put it in yet. 2nd gen Camaro wheels fit and look good. Mid 80's Monte Carlo SS wheels are nice. I have seen the 90's Chevy truck wheel being used too.

sometimes I'm thinking about colletct some parts and share with members of this forum for cheap as well.

yes, they are stock chevy pedals. I think they only came on the CST's, but not positive

These were taken as I redid the wheel and column. I painted the factory tilt for a four speed and put the Corvette leather wheel on it. I'm about ready for a new look though. Been thinking about a half wrap leather wheel.

Same one for any Chevy wheel. They fit most GM wheels to the column.

Here is my new 67 SS wheel I installed. I like it a lot better. I did the leather wrap myself.

Yes that is a optional steering wheel for the 1970 Chevelle (and Novas I believe) and stardard in the Corvette it is called the cushion steering wheel. The steering wheel was also used in Buicks for quite a few years as the sport wheel option. My 1970 GS350 had one of those in it. I have an original one in 1971 Monte Carlo (not correct for the car).

Will it bolt right in or do you need an adapter?

You need a 67-68 Camaro hub to mount it to the column. Here's mine when I get to it.

I know really old thread but I had info that could help people out with a great factory steering wheel so I thought I would share.

This is the NK1 option code steering wheel that was standard on the 1969 through 1975 Corvette and optional on the 1969 Camaro, 1970 Chevelle, Monte Carlo & full-size passenger cars and optional on the 1971 through 1975 Buick GS. They are incorrectly referred to as the Comfort Grip steering wheel when Chevy actually called them the Cushioned Rim steering wheel. The nickname stuck and you will have a tough time finding them referred to as anything but Comfort Grip.

The Corvette wheel and some of the others were 15" outside diameter and are commonly referred to as the small Comfort Grip steering wheel but there is a 16" diameter version as well that is the large Comfort Grip wheel. Both sizes are commonly available as new reproductions for a pretty good price compared to many of the other options out there. I eventually put them on everything I build.

Years ago I tried a one of these Repop wheels on my 69 Camaro. It looked great...however two of the spokes broke off at the rim from poor welds. It now is a wall hanger in my garage. So, then I found an OEM Corvette wheel on eBay and have been using it ever since. Maybe the newer repops are better I don't know. Just my experience.

Just bought '72 GMC. Can u tell me what year of Corvette wheel you used and what adapter kit did u have to get ? Been looking at Grant but like the Corvette wheel you used.

There are two different steering wheel hubs for that wheel. One fits the 68 and earlier GM and the second one is for the 69 and later GM cars, now which one is best for the truck column is not clear to me yet. I would bet the hub for the 68 and earlier is the corrected one as Trevor said.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
