Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
it says "rust free", looks pretty good - not mine, posting in case someone needs it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/64-66...item4157ae7ab2

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
Thats not too far away from me....looks like a good buy....
However, I just noticed it had a reserve......and no VIN tag, which would be a killer for the deal i believe.... oh well...

I think the "no VIN tag" kills it. would be a great cab if only...

That undercoating could cover a lot of sins, think I would prefer to see it etch primed only so one could see the repairs......

It looks nice, but would not want anything covered up at all for that kind of $$ The second one listed for $300 does not look bad for the $$

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
I wonder why he is selling if he has that much into it? looks like he has another BBW cab in the background of the ebay pic.

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
i didn't notice the "no VIN" note when I posted - sorry, probably would not have posted in that case, or at least would have mentioned it. I did note there was a reserve, which usually means "fuggedaboutit" to me.

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
CVA59 said he gave $2k for it and then also did some work on it, so the reserve is up there, I just checked and it is at $1450.00.

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
That's a can of worms Clyde, makes the administrators get cramps when that question come up(!) (Just kidding) But the bottom line is that, to do so, one has to run the idears thru DMV - I believe that in MOST places, reattaching a VIN is illegal. Always check with local DMV before buying something like this because, if you plan to do it on the up & up, you could potentially conrhole yourself.

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
Thanks Jocko, I am not doing it, I was just curious, I think talking to the DMV is a good idea, however my experience has been they dont know squat either, but they are the ones who make the rules. Hell I wont even buy a cab/truck without a title, that is how scared I am of getting cornholed, ya know?
Mods, dont blow a gasket, I was only asking geeesh!

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
HA! I know you aren't doing that - I was just mentioning for others considering the cab - this has been a hot topic recently on the message board. I'm with you - and I've passed on several great trucks because of fishy or non-existent titles/VIN snafus, etc (unfortunately, should have passed on one more, but didn't, and almost got severely burned - but it worked out ok in the end and the guy took the truck back - thankfully the vehicle was purchased through a dealer or I'd have been screwed). And I STILL miss the 55 1st series that I ALMOST bought from a good friend that suspiciously had a 54 title and a detached VIN plate. Poor guy will probably never get rid of that truck.

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
I found a parts truck and it had a BBW and custom cab, nice short bed and good front sheetmetal, the frame was cracked, all for under $1k, now here is the issue, the title was lost AND it was in his friends name that allegedly moved 60 miles away but he had given alot more than $1k for the truck. I asked if he could contact the friend and get the title worked out, I would pay his asking price. never heard from him and he took thw sdd off CL, when I asked him if it is still for sale a few weeks later, he was real nasty.

Re: Someone's GOTTA be looking for this (64-66 big window, a/c cab)
I would sure like to find a good, straight AC & BBW cab but one that i can afford. I hope he sells it to get his money back but it is just way out of my price range.

I might cut one of mine up in a little while here, I haven't quite decided what to do with it yet.
