Rear heat and ac question
I am interested in buying a 88 suburban. My friend looked at it for me and said it has rear ac on the roof. There is a switch on the dash to activate it. My question is, will it also have rear heat in that unit? I don't know if that is a combo or could be just ac? If it has both, how do you activate the heater?
I hope someone can give some quick info on this. I need to act pretty fast. Thanks Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Rear heat and ac question
No, rear heat is different and would be located on the floor.

Re: Rear heat and ac question
ok, so they don't run thru the same overhead console. Is there a switch somewhere that activates the heat?

Re: Rear heat and ac question
look for a switch with the AC on it (the dark pic)
not the clear brighter pic it had a cutoff valve under the hood to shut off the heater core part when using the ac part EZ way to tell type and count of the pipes going in under the back

Re: Rear heat and ac question
ok, that is helpful. The switch will identify it as well as having both. Thank you. I will post if I buy this suburban and what I find out.
Thanks, |

Re: Rear heat and ac question
Again, thanks to motornut and others for your help. I did purchase the Suburban and it will be our new Daily Driver for our family. I did not even look at the Suburban, I simply went off a trusted friends description. I will pick it up later this week and try to post a picture.
