Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
I'm wanting to put 22's on my 1967 C10 SWB, but I don't want to C-Notch my frame or lose my inner fenders tubs. I want 22x9.5 all around with a 30 series in the front with a 35 series in the back.

Re: Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
Your inner fenders and front tire height will dictate the entire drop.
Probably a 3/5 drop with a 27" tire height up front will be about it.

Re: Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
Wow!!! Keith I was sacrificing the 35 series uo front to get the 4/6. You mean 30 series wont fit on a 3/5 drop?

Re: Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
What size tires up front?
(I'm not familiar with 22" tire sizes. Backspacing will be critical to get them under the fenders and able to turn. 22x8.5 with 5.5 BS will work. You probably need to run a 265/30 or 265/35. 72BlckButy runs a 255/40-20 with his 4.5/6 static drop I did a little more research: www.Miata.net calculates: 255/40-20 at 28" tall. 265/35-20 at 29.3" tall. 265/30-22 at 28.3" tall. So maybe a 4/6 would work with the 30 series tire. I'd rather run a 40 series on a 20,... and they can still be "rim benders". But it's really about what you want,... not me.

Sorry I didn't do the research before I replied.
I tried to go by memory.

Re: Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
That's cool Keith!!!! I was just checking out 72BlckButy's build. That's what gave me the idea. I know that it will be close. I'm defintely a 22 incher rimmer!!! I think I'm going to go with ECE for the set up. i really wanted to go with 35 series all theway around, but I think I'm going to have to sacrifice rubber for the stance that I want. i'm not sure that Foose make a 8.5 in the Nitrous. I love that 4/6 Drop!!! I gotta have it!!!!

Re: Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
Just because they will physically fit (as evidenced by that pic) doesn't mean they'll work. I would definitely get the wheel tire combo you desire if that's the main priority & decide the drop from there.
If the 4/6 drop is the priority, do that & get the wheel/tire sizing according to what fits & works so you can drive it w/o constant rubbing.

Do it in stages and then everything will work. When someone goes off and buys an array of parts and then hopes they will fit, they generally run into problems. When I did my truck, we lowered it and then measured the truck to obtain the proper fitment for "my" truck. Each truck even with the same parts can measure differently. Take your time, and do it right the first time.

Re: Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
I have 22x9.5's with 15mm offsets on my blazer. The fronts are 265/35 and the rears are 295/30's. I only took it for a ride around the block with these wheels on and 4/6 drop (4 right hand turns, 3 speed bumps and up/down a curb), but it didn't rub at all. I didn't have a c-notch in at the time, however, I didn't have any wheel tubs in the front either (don't own a set).
Here's what it looked like with the 4/6:

On the rear, the backspacing is a little close to the inner tubs for my liking, so I plan to put on a half inch spacer or more on each side and cut out the outer portion. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
Just wanted to give a quick update to my comments. I haven't been able to do much since I'm still moving, but I did try to adjust the supertrac bar to stop the rubbing issue I was having in the rear, and come to find out, the 15mm offset just doesn't work on my rear end. I can get just under 1/2" of clearance on the inner fenders on each side, but it's not enough since when going through a turn it rubs due to the body lean. I'll need spacers and may have to cut the outter fenders for clearance.

Thanks tubbed!!! Do you know your back spacing on your rims and how deep are they? They look like 22x10's. Thanks for the update!!!

Re: Lowest Static Drop on 22's without Mods??
i have 20" x 8.5 coy c-5's up front and 22" x 9 coy c-5's 5 "bs on the rear on my 71 lwb w/ no c notch. i belive the tires are 265/40 zr22 toyo's in the rear, plenty of room for the tires. i could run alot more tire under there thats not the problem, problem is w/ 6" drop the frame WILL hit the axle on medium sized bumps and belive me that s*%t hurts. mine is coilsprings with trailing arms
