Quick question about dash interchange...

Will the dash from a '61 Chevy fit my '66 GMC? I like the double bump version but wasn't sure about interchange since the '61 has the wraparound windshield...

Thanks guys -John

Re: Quick question about dash interchange...

You will have to change the entire dash. Meaning the part that is spot welded into the trucks. I've seen a pic or two of it done but it does require a bit of work to make it fit. I like the '60-'63 dashes also.

Re: Quick question about dash interchange...

Yeah, there is a s*** load of spot welds where the dash meets the cowl under the windshield. Then there are a couple bolts where the dash meets the side of the cab above the kick panel.

Re: Quick question about dash interchange...

Im smack dab in the middle of installing a 61 dash in my 65 GMC. Everything matches up excellent. You just have to fabricate the end pieces where it would meet the door jam area. I will try to get a pic or two when I'm finished with it.

Re: Quick question about dash interchange...

That looks awesome...thanks for the pics. Looking like I'll need to take the windshield out to do this job, right? Its ok, my windshield leaks anyways lol
