which parts do I need teo replace in my rear brakes?

I opened up my rear brake drums today on my 86 K20.

the brake pads are 5-6mm thick...do I need to replace them?

and judging from the photos, do you guys advise to replace any other parts?

The pads are a little worn but don't have to be replaced immediatly, it won't hurt to replace them now as they will need it soon. the rest looks fine. no aparent leaks from the slave cylinder, the springs look fresh. i would clean and lubricate the self adjuster though.

simple answer, before the get to the rivets. most shoes have a wear indicator that will warn you before they are unsafe. it looks like yours may be using the bevel edge as the wear indicator. the front shoe is worn more than the rear but looks safe from the pics. it all depends on how you drive and the design of the shoe but most can go to 3mm. again just make sure it never gets to the rivets or you'll be turning or replacing the drums.

looking at the pics this little tab circled may be the indicator. it will make a awful squeal when it starts rubbing the drum but not do as much damage as the rivets would
