Post bellhousing

53 3100 216 1/ installing 235 to replace dead 216,can i use the bellhousing from the 235 or do i have to use the one from the 216? would like to use the larger clutch. 2/ is it possible to change to the later 54 rear motor mounts without any modification?

If the 235 bell is a 53 then use it. If it 54 and up it will not work in that chassis. Changing to a 54 bell it far more work than its worth. You would need to change the bell and rear cross member if the 54 crossmember would even fit. You need a 47-53 bell bolted to the 235 if your putting it in a 53, use the 216 clutch, flywheel and plate.
