61 Suburban width measurement please
I am planning to go pick up a 61 Suburban next weekend.
However, I need to know width measurement to determine if it will fit flat on the trailer I am using. The trailer bed is 6' 4" wide where the wheels will sit with about a 6" tall lip. Will it fit on there or will I need to run one side up on the runner? Any help would be great! Thanks.

Re: 61 Suburban width measurement please
Bump, I figure the trucks have got to be the same width. Anybody know (or mind checking) the width of their truck? This will help me out a ton to know if I am taking the right trailer an hour & a half each way.

Re: 61 Suburban width measurement please
Look up Corts 60 build thread and PM him and ask hime to measure. I would measure mine, but I am out of town for several days working. I measured mine to see if it would fit on a dolly type tow and it would, just can't remember the width.
You do have to remember that the door might no open if there is a side rail so leave driver's window down. Good luck.

Re: 61 Suburban width measurement please
Have to haul mine on a flat bed car hauler that is about 9ft wide because the side rails would hit the lower part of the doors.
This one is it sitting on bed but still kinda gives you an idea of how wide they are at stock height. Last edited by scotts62; 04-04-2011 at 11:30 AM. |
