Re: Driveline prices? Wow
I just had my rear driveshaft damaged and I needed my original yoke cut off, new yoke welded on, ujoints installed and balanced of course, and they painted the shaft so it looked all new and shiny. Roughly $140 I think. You're price isn't completely off.

Re: Driveline prices? Wow
I agree. It cost me $380 to have a one piece driveline made for my '79 GMC 3/4 ton a few years back.
You're askin' for custom work... Gary

Re: Driveline prices? Wow
WOW!! THATS INSANE!!.. From what i can tell one can grind off the weld pull out the whachamacalit( where the u joints go into) clean that up. and then cut your tube with a chopsaw. inset the whachamacallit. reweld.. and take it to get ballanced. if i had decent welldning skills id do it.. dammit thats why im paying for it im paying for the guys welding skills!!!

Re: Driveline prices? Wow
Check out capital, they will build any shaft you want for that money. I think we are paying $190 for the shaft, 2 new joints and a slip yoke

Re: Driveline prices? Wow
a hollow (relatively thin gauge)steel or aluminum pipe pole vaulting a vehicle of any size..... i have a hard time believing it. possible, maybe? i really hate to do this, but.... they did an episode on "mythbusters" and were unable to come anywhere near a "pole vault" anyone have any videos?
