Windshield Wiper Parts Question
I need new wiper arms & blades for my '63. Pretty pricey!
LMC offers a set about $20 cheaper than The Filling Station, but I've never dealt with LMC and don't know if they have good quality parts or imported junk. I'd like to save a buck, but I need them to work, too as this is my daily driver. Has anybody ever purchased like items and were you satisfied with them? Has anyone purchased these parts any place else and were you happy with the quality? Thanks, -Bob |

Re: Windshield Wiper Parts Question
If the arms are ok, just go buy a set close to your size and cut the rubber to fit. I have heard bad things about the ones from LMC, but that's what I did.

Re: Windshield Wiper Parts Question
Are the replacement blades not available from your local auto parts supply? I can get either winter or summer blades here.

LMC parts are kinda like false teeth. They'll work if you have no other option but they're nothing like the originals and probably taste funny. Last edited by 4wdSchlongStepper; 04-18-2011 at 01:27 PM. |

I just got mine in the mail and was disappointed to see "Made in Taiwan" on them. As I am seeing on all the products I have ordered. |

Re: Windshield Wiper Parts Question
I got some from Classic Parts and they look just like the originals. I doubt they work like a newer blade would but they probably work as good as new ones did in 1963.

Re: Windshield Wiper Parts Question
Also try Classic Parts, I replaced my blades last year and they worked fine and were good quality.

I'm not too concerned with the blades - it's the arm (the part with the spring on it that exerts pressure on the blade to keep it flat to the windshield) I'm most concerned with. After paul63C10's comment, I guess I'll go with The Filling Station. Thanks for the feedback, guys. |

Re: Windshield Wiper Parts Question
You know, I was just thinking to myself yesterday, while cleaning rust off all the cheap repro chrome on my truck with CLR, how surprised I was at the longevity I've gotten from the LMC wiper arms. I put them on there probably three or four years ago now, and they've held up fine. Need new blades now, but the arms are fine and haven't disintegrated like I thought they would have. So, at least on that particular part from LMC, I can say they've held up well. I live in San Diego within half a mile from the water, so everything rusts quickly down here. As evidenced by the bubbles in my new paint...
So yeah. LMC wiper arms aren't terrible. |

Re: Windshield Wiper Parts Question
I have a 64 also and want to use my original arms, but I need new blades or refills. I dont think autozone carries 13U? Just 13N. any suggestions?

Re: Windshield Wiper Parts Question
There are a number of ways to go when it comes to wiper arms and blades, depending on if you want a factory or custom look. Here are a couple links for ya. The second thread talks about LMC parts, but goes on to provide some good quality Trico parts.
