Exhaust/Intake manifold
I am looking to find a stock exhaust and an intake manifold.
for my 230. I prefer to find it new. I want to keep it with the monojet. I cant seem to find any online or in the store that is not a dual or for a quad. Any thoughts on what the best way to go is here. I was thinking of going the cheapest route for now but make it look good and run good at the same time. I want it mostly stock but some better performance. I do not need the awesome set ups I see here cuz I'm gonna drive it everyday. I have the posi and new gear going in next week. I need a new carb which I will also get next week. I was thinking a 342 gear and a monojet m. Any recommendations? So If I replace the carb I was thinking to replace the exhaust and intake. Should I go with some type of header or will that make a diff? My buddy says I would need to upgrade the lifter springs. Anybody? |

I have a original inline 6with 60k original miles . I just pulled it out to put in a v-8. The engine runs fine.

I will use it as a daily driver. The guy I bought it from says it also only has 60k on it but that is hard to tell cuz it has a new seat and he painted everything. I dont think so really cuz he also replaced the rockers and inside side panels under the dash.

As Lakeroadster said about determining gears. You need to know tire diameter, and final drive is 1.0 unless you have overdrive? doubtful.
www.wallaceracing.com has gear calculators. You have the posi already? depending on the "series" 3, or 4, determines the gears you can use. I think 3:73 is the break point between them. Talk it over with whomever is building your rear end. Unless you want to go with an Offy intake/2 or 4 bbl, you don't have much option except the stock intake and 1 bbl. Clifford intakes are more race than street. Headers alone may help a little, but unless you want to spend some money on the head and intake, just save your money. Switching to HEI ignition is the single best thing you can do, both for efficiency and performance. Upgrade lifter springs?? I'm not clear on what you are talking about.
