cigarette lighter light question
I just installed a new cigarette lighter, but this one has a light with it with a white wire and a plug on the end. Where does this plug in to?
Thanks

Re: cigarette lighter light question
Ah, okay. Just tried it. Guess it makes sense. When the ign it on, the light comes on. When it's off, the light goes off.
Thanks!

Re: cigarette lighter light question
They all come like that now from the aftermarket suppliers. You can remove it if you want to. Gives you a target to aim at while driving at night, AFTER you burn a hole in the new upol.

Re: cigarette lighter light question
Maybe I'm missing it.... does the light shine into the socket to help you reinsert the lighter after use or?????

Re: cigarette lighter light question
Thanks for adding the pic jbgroby!
Blackedoutharley. Yes, the light shines on the inside of the lighter so you find the socket to stick the lighter back in at night. Doesn't do any good in the daytime, but it still lights up. My original one did not have this which is why I started the post. I thought that was the main wire. I plugged it in the fuse box, and got all light. Couldn't figure out "when" the light was supposed to come on. Hooking it to the PANEL on the fuse box lights it when the key is 'on'. Then of course you have the main wire and the ground wire. So the one I have and the one shown in the pic has 3 connections to be made
