accel dual points help
i have accel dual points. i trying to find out the the dwell is for a 327sbc. i know with the dual points you unplug one and set it. then you plug it back in and set them together. right now i have the 1st set at 28 and them together at 32 dwell. is that right i have been reading all kinds of numbers like 21 to 28 and then i have red 28 to 40. it seem to run good. i just want to make sure i have it right. before i burn out my points

He's an older post from a different site that might be helpful. It's been about 30 years since I've worked on a points distributor, but I always set the dwell on the short end of the range. That way as the rubbing block(s) wear down the dwell will increase toward the long end of tolerance.

28 and 32 total is correct, i raced using these years ago and they are pretty reliable and on the plus side they use chevy points so you dont have to buy the pricey accel point sets
