New to forum, few pics of my 87.
Really love this truck and it currently has 63k actual miles on it. It is a 350 FI with 3.42 gears, dual tanks, all pwr options. Anyway look foward to learning more about these trucks on this forum.
Current projects going on with it is I'm currently trying to find some new bed rails my originals are nice but I am looking for a NOS set but no clue what the part number is and the dealership won't give me the part number so I can search the net for them! I have an original GM dash pad on the way from gmpartsdirect think it's the light grey and dye to match deal..question is which exact blue from SEM do I need? my dash is dark blue their website shows like shadow blue..anyway my original has some cracks even tho that dash mat has been on it 4ever. Also the carpet is in great shape since the liner has been protecting it but on the hump where the seat sets it is faded compared to whats under the mat so looking for the best carpet set out there any suggestions? I want a carpet set that has the extra length in the driver side corner forthe plastic rivet. one last thing who makes the best seat cover? divers side is thin so ordered one from classic industries and it was way off so sent it back. That truck is clean....paint, wheels, chrome, and the interior all look really nice...but I bet the truck is calling for a sport bumper though!
Nice truck man and welcome to the board!

That's a beautiful truck! Not only is it an '87, it's also my favorite two-tone combo. I wouldn't change anything on it, not even the rear bumper!

Welcome, that is one nice truck. Question though, I've heard of photo shop, what are you using "finger shop" to cover you plate #?

Re: New to forum, few pics of my 87.
Welcome to the forum weider1717. Thats a really sharp 4wd you have there. I am more of a 2wd kind of guy but I would roll that one all day long.
Regarding your needs for parts, I am not sure that the bed rails were factory. Unless they are shown on your SPID, they might be dealer installed. For carpet, check out Auto Custom Carpets. If they fit your needs talk to forum member Capt Kaos. He is a dealer and can help you out.

Re: New to forum, few pics of my 87.
That is an awesome looking truck. Simply stunning.
I called my GM parts guy, he was unable to find a part # for the GM accessory bed rail kits. Those were good looking bed rails though back in the day, at least to me. I added them to every truck I had in the 80's.

Sweet truck! Curious what the paint codes are. I dig that light blue.
My '86 had those same bed rails. but it also had a bunch of junk bolted on it... The glove box was missing so I don't know if it is factory. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/100_5284.jpg

Re: New to forum, few pics of my 87.
Those bed rails were GM accessory items. Keith would know more, but I don't think they rolled out of the factory with them, but were added at the dealership or available for the owner to purchase and install. They really were a good looking bed rail and had a decent function to them, a lot like the bed rails you could get for the El Caminos of the same era from GM.

Re: New to forum, few pics of my 87.
Very nice 87. Love those clean stock trucks. They have been a good looking truck since first arriving on the dealers lots back in the day. Let us know how the dash pad looks installed. I'm still researching the best dash pads, because I've got 2 to replace.
