Brazillian C10 - 1976 - Custom project
Hey guys! How are you?
First, sorry for my english, I'm practicing. This board served as inspiration for many stages of my project. Now I decided to share with you my project!! It's a Brazillian C10, year 1976, short bed. Pics when I bought: The engine it's a six in line (261 pol³ - 4.3L). My engine: In the future I intend to change the engine, because the parts are very rare and expensive. Here we got the 250 engine (250 pol³ - 4.1L). This engine was used in a car called Opala for many years. So this parts are easy to find, even new! Maybe I use this engine, or an american classic, the V8 350 engine. The 250 engine: Its in the shop since august. Here some pics of the job, parts and more: Sorry for "zillion" pictures. |

I love the simplicity of the instrument cluster and love the rear bumperettes! wish we could import parts from that up here!

Many pieces can still be found new, except the engine. Take a look on our "eBay": http://veiculos.mercadolivre.com.br/...0_ItemTypeID_N Quote:

Many used to work. So they are in poor condition. Rare are those who are in good condition. Take a look: http://lista.mercadolivre.com.br/c10 http://lista.mercadolivre.com.br/d10 http://lista.mercadolivre.com.br/veraneio For currency exchange: USD 1,00 = R$ 1,60 (BRL - Brazillian Real) Thanks man. I appreciate that. |

Re: Brazillian C10 - 1976 - Custom project
That's what I'm talking about!
Lowering the front. Here in Brazil we do not have sport springs for this truck. I take some pics. Could tell whether there is any spring like that in the U.S.? Thanks!! Originals springs: Cellphone pictures. ;D Last edited by Junior_BnU; 05-02-2011 at 11:44 AM. |

Re: Brazillian C10 - 1976 - Custom project
Nice work. I'd recommend a crate 350 V8 for your build if you are having a hard time geting parts for the 250 I6 plant, especially of it's going to be a driver.
Hopefully the '76 production fleet came equipped with front disc brakes like they are in North America. The sheet metal tooling is reminiscent of the 1960-1966 series, very unique. Thanks for the pix, never saw a Brazilian Chevy before... |

Re: Brazillian C10 - 1976 - Custom project
I've seen pictures of these trucks before but nothing as detailed as this......was this odel limited to production in Brazil? I've seen pictures of these trucks in Asia, the middle east, Europe, and Africa but they all looked very similar to what they did in America....but this model looks totally different! I really like the "uniquity" (is that a word?) of these....I'll be following this build thread

This model don't have the front disc brakes (were introduced in 1978). But I'll take of the 20 series, is fully compatible. Quote:
Thanks man!! Next week I'll post more pics, if you have any questions, you can post that I will be happy to respond. |

Re: Brazillian C10 - 1976 - Custom project
Guys,
I'm following the project closely, despite having progressed little in recent weeks. At the end of last week the roof was scraped (is that the word?!), but I could not take pictures that day. We applied a light layer of material (do not know what the translation for that...) to set the roof on to keep 100% smooth. Photos: The hood has also been scraped: |

Re: Brazillian C10 - 1976 - Custom project
Guys,
New pics from yesterday. A fender was already removed all the old material and the other is almost there: The service at the ports has also been initiated with the removal of old material. The hood is almost there! Application of "corrosion resistant (2 coats)" (is that the words?!): Primer (3 coats) The hood still is not 100%. With the application of primer, it was possible to see small imperfections, which obviously will be corrected prior to painting. Greetings! |
