1964 K20 Front Brakes
I'm replacing the front shoes on my '64 K20
Help me out here guys. Primary shoe towards the front or rear? Primary shoe = shoes with longer lining. I have read SOOOOOOOO many different answers after a Google search. If it matters, the wheel cylinder is at the top of the shoes. My best guess says big "primary" shoes to the rear.... Correct me if I'm wrong. Help me out here PLEASE!!! Thanks! Q

Re: 1964 K20 Front Brakes
Just looked at an old 1960 Motors shop manual and the pics show the longer "secondary shoe" in the back and the shorter "primary shoe" in the front. Hope this helps

Re: 1964 K20 Front Brakes
I'm fairly certain that the smaller shoe goes toward the front and the larger shoe goes toward the back no matter what they are called. That's the way that all of the drums that I've ever done have been. If anything this is almost a good enough reason to go to four wheel disc...LOL. Good luck
