Bolting a 700R4 to a Carbed LQ9...................
What do I need to bolt a 700R4 to a Carbed 2004 LQ9 6.0L??
I have the spacer and longer bolts for the flexplate already. I have the flexplate for the 6.0L also. Do I need anything else?? Thanks in advance. |

that should be it...plus a tv cable, and carb geometry correcter plate. I got mine from TCI but there are plenty of other options.

Re: Bolting a 700R4 to a Carbed LQ9...................
Is it going to be a big deal that I had to slot the holes in the 6.0L flexplate to fit the 700R4 converter?

Re: Bolting a 700R4 to a Carbed LQ9...................
I had to...no problems here and my flexplate is on its 2nd convertor. The torque converter has a nose that fits into the spacer and keeps it centered. You're just extending the holes to make them ovals instead of circles. As long as your careful making the holes fit...should be fine. My motor should be 500+hp....and it doesn't seem to cause any vibration that goes up and down with the rpms....and hasn't hurt anything, yet.

They both are nice motors. Looks like a good bit of hp will be lost. Are you going to supercharge the new motor? That would be sick! They sell maniflods to bolt that blower on to the new motor....
